On February 24th, we had a great coaching by the dynamic duo of

Donny Rose and his wife, Amy.  They are both full of Barbershop knowledge! 

We learned a lot about the new category, Visual Communication, along with working on getting our two contest songs ready for competition in May.

Donny and Amy both also have great senses of humor,

so the day was also filled with laughter and fun.

When the coaching was finished, we all went over to the Swinging Doors for an

"Afterglow" which included dinner, lots of conversation and more laughter,

and a chance to unwind together.

RiversEdge Chorus is an extraordinary group of women who gather together in celebration of the art form known as barbershop music. We are a chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

We are available throughout the year for performances. 

Our popular performances include Patriotic, Slice of America and of course our popular Christmas performance package.  We can also tailor our performance to suit your needs.

     2023 is a red letter year for Sweet Adelines!  For the first time in 4 years, all the regions were allowed to gather in person for their annual competition.  Our region (13) gathered in Spokane, WA in mid May and held our competition in the First Interstate Center for the Arts (formerly known as the Opera House).  It was wonderful to be able to see all our sister Sweet Adelines again and share our convention with each other.  RiversEdge competed with 9 new members and we had a great time.  We also raised our scores, so it was a fabulous weekend.  If you like to sing and build lasting friendships, we invite you to visit us, and you just might find that RiversEdge is the place to be for good music and life-long friendships.

DO YOU LOVE TO SING?

We are eager to share our love of Barbershop with ladies who love to sing and would like to

meet a friendly chorus who is guaranteed to make you feel welcome. If you have sung in

school, college, at church or with another group in the past and are wondering where you

might find a place to share you musical talents again, we invite you to come visit us any

Monday evening at 6:45. Spend an evening with us and discover the joys of

making music a cappella style!!

inquiry on that page.  Our membership chair will contact you and give you

more information about our chorus.

A LITTLE INFO ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR

Since Bianca Dixon became our director in July of 2019, we have had a wonderful time.

Bianca is knowledgeable in both vocal production and the barbershop style of singing,

which she shares with us every week.  She is also full of fun and keeps our rehearsals

interesting and very enjoyable.  Most evenings, we are surprised that the rehearsal time

is almost over and it seems we just got started!  She is a real positive element for us!

We invite you to come see how much fun we have at our rehearsals!

As the administrator of our web site, I was going to take down the following picture from the website, since I put it up here quite a while ago.  However, since it illustrates the humor

in our chorus, and Bianca still uses this tool to remind us about placement,

I decided to leave it up for a while longer!

February, 2022 - I started to take it down, but it shows a lot of who we are,

so it's gonna stay up for a while longer!  Enjoy, and come visit - you won't be sorry!

June, 2023 - I still don't want to take this cute post down,

so it will be here for a while longer.

It says a lot about how our chorus enjoys our

rehearsals and each other!

There is a cute story behind the photo below:

When Bianca came to audition to become director of our chorus, she gave us a

little tip about how to focus our sound better.  She said "put your index fingers

under your nose, kind of like you had a mustache, and then try to sing a little

above your "mustache."  We tried it, and it worked well for us.

So, last night (6-17-19), when she arrived on her first night as our director,

we were all standing on the risers in our "mustaches" and shouted,

"WELCOME, BIANCA!"

Needless to say, she was surprised and almost fell down laughing -

just the reaction we wanted! 

It was a great way to welcome her and let her know we are behind her 100%!!

WHAT A HOOT!!
